Testing Process

Step One:

Book an appointment.

We are thankful to be a part of your unique health journey! Take the first steps in assessing your cancer risk today and schedule with a Ms.Medicine provider now.

If you are already enrolled as a member within a Ms.Medicine practice, your membership includes your consultation with your physician and the charge listed is for the test itself.

If you are not a member at this time but are interested in the Galleri Testing, you are required to have a 45-minute pre-testing consult with the physician, to ensure the appropriateness of the test, as well as a post-testing consult to review results. If you are interested in becoming a member prior to testing, visit mymsmedicine.com and enroll today.

Step Two:

Complete your blood draw.

Thinking about the possibility of cancer is overwhelming but taking the steps to find cancer early can help you feel more in control. Testing is fast and easy; no fasting or advanced preparation is needed. The blood draw can be completed in under 15 minutes.

Step 3: Receive your results and next steps.

  • Next steps:

Continue with all routine screening tests recommended for you. Missing routine cancer screenings or ignoring symptoms could lead to a delayed diagnosis of cancer.

  • Next steps:

The Galleri test does not diagnose cancer. Appropriate follow-up testing will be discussed to confirm if cancer is present.

Breakthrough Test Performance

  • SENSITIVITY: True Positive Rate

This means that the Galleri test reported a “Cancer Signal Detected” result correctly in approximately 52 individuals out of 100 who actually had cancer (but will miss 48 of them).

  • SPECIFICITY: True Negative Rate

This means that the Galleri test reported a “Cancer Signal Not Detected” result correctly in approximately 99 individuals out of 100 who do not actually have cancer. This means a negative test is a true negative 99.5% of the time

  • FALSE POSITIVE RATE

This means that the Galleri test will report a “Cancer Signal Detected” incorrectly in 1 in every 200 tests run.

  • CANCER SIGNAL ORIGIN ACCURACY

This means when a cancer signal was detected in an individual who actually had cancer, the first Cancer Signal Origin was correctly predicted 89 of 100 times.
